SIA BP Research is not VAT registered (turnover below the Latvian VAT registration threshold). All prices on basedpeps.com are shown VAT-free.
2. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Latvia, including the Consumer Rights Protection Law (Patērētāju tiesību aizsardzības likums) and the Civil Law of Latvia (Civillikums). Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Latvia.
Consumer rights: Nothing in this clause affects your rights as a consumer to bring proceedings in the courts of your habitual residence or to rely on the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence, as provided under EU Regulation (EC) No 593/2008 (Rome I) and Regulation (EU) No 1215/2012 (Brussels I Recast).
3. Research-Use-Only Disclaimer
All products sold by BasedPeps are intended strictly for laboratory and scientific research purposes only. Products are chemical reference materials and research compounds. They are not medicines, dietary supplements, food products, cosmetics, or consumer goods.
Products must not be used for human or animal consumption, therapeutic purposes, diagnostic procedures, or any application inconsistent with their intended research use.
4. Buyer Eligibility
By placing an order, the buyer confirms that they:
- Are at least 18 years of age.
- Are a qualified researcher, research institution, laboratory, or otherwise lawfully permitted to purchase research chemicals in their jurisdiction.
- Will use the products exclusively for legitimate scientific research.
- Accept full responsibility for compliance with all applicable local, national, and international laws governing the purchase, possession, and use of the ordered compounds.
5. No Human Consumption — Liability Waiver
BasedPeps explicitly prohibits the use of any product for human consumption. The buyer acknowledges that:
- All products are sold as research chemicals and are not approved for human use by any regulatory authority.
- BasedPeps bears no liability for any injury, illness, or damage resulting from misuse, including but not limited to ingestion, injection, or any form of self-administration.
- The buyer indemnifies and holds harmless BasedPeps, its directors, employees, and agents from any claims arising from product misuse.
6. Returns, Cancellations & Refunds
All BasedPeps products are research-grade chemical compounds dispatched for laboratory use. All sales are final. The following conditions apply to all orders:
6a. Order Cancellation
Orders cannot be cancelled once payment has been confirmed and the order has entered processing. If you wish to cancel before payment is confirmed, please contact us immediately via the contact form. BasedPeps reserves the right to accept or refuse cancellation requests at its sole discretion.
6b. Product Returns
Returns are not accepted under any circumstances. Research compounds cannot be returned to inventory after leaving our controlled dispatch environment due to the inability to verify storage conditions, chain of custody, or potential contamination during transit or storage. This applies regardless of whether the product seal is intact or has been opened.
Pursuant to Article 16(e) of EU Directive 2011/83/EU, the right of withdrawal does not apply to sealed goods not suitable for return due to health protection or hygiene reasons once unsealed. As research compounds present inherent contamination and integrity risks irrespective of seal status, all BasedPeps products fall within this exclusion.
6c. Product Exchange
Product exchanges are not offered. Incorrect or unwanted products cannot be swapped for alternative compounds. Please review your order carefully before confirming payment.
6d. Refunds
Monetary refunds are not issued under any circumstances, including but not limited to: dissatisfaction with the product, ordering error, change of mind, or customs seizure in the buyer’s jurisdiction.
Customs seizures: In the event that a shipment is seized by customs authorities, BasedPeps will arrange a one-time reshipment of the affected order, provided that the buyer submits the official customs seizure notice (a government-issued document stating the seizure reference number, authority, and date) within 30 days of the expected delivery date. Reshipment will be made to the same delivery address only. No monetary compensation will be provided. Claims submitted without an official seizure notice will not be eligible for reshipment.
Lost or damaged shipments: In the event of a lost or damaged shipment verified under the process set out in our Shipping Policy, BasedPeps may, at its sole discretion, arrange reshipment of the affected items. No monetary compensation will be provided.
Statutory rights: Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights as a consumer where goods are found to be faulty, not as described, or otherwise not in conformity with the contract, as provided under EU Directive 2019/771 on the sale of goods.
By placing an order, the buyer expressly acknowledges and agrees to this cancellation, returns, exchange, and refunds policy.
7. Payment Terms
BasedPeps accepts payment via:
- Bank transfer (SEPA and international wire)
- Cryptocurrency (BTC, ETH, USDT, USDC — details provided at checkout)
All prices are listed in euros (EUR) unless otherwise stated. Payment must be received in full before dispatch. Orders not paid within 5 days of placement may be cancelled without notice.
8. Order Acceptance
Submission of an order constitutes an offer to purchase. BasedPeps reserves the right to accept or decline any order at its sole discretion. An order is deemed accepted only upon dispatch confirmation.
9. Intellectual Property
All content on basedpeps.com — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, and software — is the property of BasedPeps and is protected under Latvian and EU intellectual property law. Reproduction without written consent is prohibited.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Latvian law, BasedPeps shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use or inability to use our products or services. Total liability shall not exceed the purchase price of the relevant order.
11. Dispute Resolution
In the event of a dispute, the buyer should first contact BasedPeps directly at the contact details provided on our website. We aim to resolve all complaints within 14 business days.
If the dispute cannot be resolved directly, consumers domiciled in the EU may submit a complaint to the Latvian Consumer Rights Protection Centre (Patērētāju tiesību aizsardzības centrs — PTAC) for eligible consumer disputes. More information is available at www.ptac.gov.lv.

12. Amendments
BasedPeps reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes take effect upon publication on this page and apply to orders placed after the date of publication. Revised Terms do not apply retroactively to orders already placed before the change. Continued use of the website after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms for future orders.
